Obviously, food is a central element of many stories, but what kind of food is the most fun? Italian food certainly has some flair and personality, and there's a certain stereotype of Italian chefs who are eager to encourage others to eat their food. I discuss Italian food extensively in From Marcy to Mob Wife, which also caused the woman who ate the food to become Italian herself. Author Janno Jones added some Russian food and culture in the age progression/weight gain ebook, MILF Soup. Similar to Marcy, the young woman who drank the hearty Russian soup also became Russian as part of her changes. French and English aren't as associated with weight gain, but they often employ foods with plenty of grease and butter, so they can certainly get the job done. They feature heavily in From Charlotte to Chavette: The Ring of Change Saga. Usually, I don't mentioned a specific cuisine, I just note that the character is eating junk food - like gorging on donuts like in Donut Surprise, or Case Study. In Going Bananas, I go the other direction and note that the character is gaining weight despite the fact that she's eating nothing but small amounts of raw fruit. One food that I'd like to write about more is Mexican food, both because I like it and because I think it has good weight gain potential (Mexico is the fattest nation on Earth.) It's also fun to describe as a writer (nachos!) I'm writing a scene at a Mexican restaurant in one of my current projects. What about you? What do you think is your favorite cuisine to read about in a weight gain story context, and why? Leave a comment and let me know. In order to promote a healthy body image, Bulimia.com has created photo manipulations of popular video game female characters with "realistic" bodies. Realistic means much fatter, and the results are very fun, so check them out!
I also wanted to share that my friend, the Forgotten One, has created a spectacular gender change animation, To Love or Lust. When a woman finds out her boyfriend has been cheating, how far will she go for revenge? You can watch a preview of this video here. Let me know what you think! Two new ebooks are here! First, we have From Bridget to Bimbo: The Ring of Change Saga. JD's first day of work at the coffee shop is derailed when he makes the wrong drink for an uptight, frumpy professor named Bridget Brimlow. He's roped into spending his day at her boring lecture - until he gives her the magical Ring of Change, with the power to change the wearer into the perfect person for whoever gave it to them. JD's perfect woman is a young, hot, big busted bimbo, so that's who Bridget becomes. Should JD have been more careful what he wished for? This is the fourth entry in The Ring of Change Saga, and book five is already in production. Next, we have Becoming the Handyman. Clifton has hired a handyman to fix his pipes - a fat, oafish, low-class bum named Frankie, who talks himself into moving in. Every day, Clifton starts to become more like Frankie - he's getting older, losing his trim figure, and he's becoming low class. This is a tale of male age progression, weight gain, and class change with homoerotic themes. A reminder: you do not need to own a Kindle to read Kindle ebooks - you can read them right in your browser with Kindle's Cloud Reader. Let me know what you think of these ebooks in the comments, and of course, Amazon reviews are always appreciated, thanks so much! This is a great video, as it doesn't consider body swaps/mind transfers to be "transformations," so it focuses exclusively on TFs that include some process, which we all like. It also references some shows which are not very well known, which is always a plus. My only fault with it is that it does not include Kashimashi, my favorite gender transformation show, but admittedly it is a little light on the process.
What are your favorite gender TF moments in books, TV shows, movies, ect? By the way, for those of you who enjoyed my gender transformation ebook From Nathan to Nanako, I have surprise for you coming up in the next few weeks. Stay tuned for that. :) This entry is the first in a new series! I've done Transformations in depth before, exploring a specific types of changes. I'd also like to explore components of the change themselves. Such components can serve as transformation reagents. They can also be effectively props that serve to illustrate consequences of the transformation. In fact, these roles don't have to be mutually exclusive. Take, for example, milk, one of the most common transformation reagents, and certainly a popular food item generally in stories. It's probably my single favorite food item to write about, for a lot of reasons, both aesthetic and psychological. Magical milk can be the cause of a transformation, like in one of my favorite Matt. L weight gain stories, The Simple Life or the interesting weight gain/lactation tale, Mama Latte. Milk consumption can also be seen a side effect of a transformation, to reflect changed appetite choices, like in my fanfic Super Size. But milk can also be both a cause and and effect. In my weight gain story Roll Model, the main character's consumption of milk is both a symptom of her transformation (it reflects changes in her behavior) and it causes further weight gain, which in turn causes more changes in her behavior. Other common foods include candy, milkshakes, ice cream, cheese. Yes, diary tends to feature heavily, both in my stories and in the work of others. Also popular are energy drinks (like my age progression story Elixir), and junk food, like pizza. Even healthy food can be rendered transformative by surreptitiously altering its properties, like what was done in my age progression ebook Golden Girls Spa. Another way food can act as a component for a transformationstory is as a setting. My Wilma series, for example, revolves around a chocolate factory. There are many, many, many, stories out there about a girl gaining after taking a new job at a donut shop, including my short weight gain ebook Donut Surprise. Working as a waitress is another common profession. Usually the formula is that after entering or working in a location abounding in fattening food, a thin woman loses her willpower and then gains way. Erotic eating and weight gain often go together, for obvious reasons. Weight gain has featured a role in most of my stories, so it's not surprising that there's also a fair amount of focus on food. To keep food fresh (ha ha), I've tried to vary the kinds of food, the manner and location in which it is consumed, and the way it affects the story. Just in time for Halloween! Witches have scared Western society for thousands of years. We're a long way off from the Salem Witch Trials, but even today, witches still have the power to scare us. Just four years ago, Christine O'Donnell was running for Senate. Comedian Bill Maher found a clip of her on his old show, saying she'd once dabbled in "witchcraft." O'Donnell responded by putting out an infamous, unintentionally hilarious campaign ad which in which she asserted "I am not a witch." The ad spawned numerous parodies, such as one from Saturday Night Live and this one below from Elvira. Ok - back to stories. When a witch is involved in a transformation, most of the time, the witch is transforming another character, usually through a magic potion, spell, or curse of kind. In my ebook Older and Wiser, for example, a witch-like character provides a potion. More rare is a character transforming into a witch. I have an age progression story in the works about this concept. Also, my story Olympia Academy has some elements of what could be called witch training.
Generally, being a witch entail gaining power, but encountering some sort of social friction as a cost (though there are exceptions, and I'll go into them later.) Witches are often portrayed as villains in fairy tales, usually as out of control women who want to disrupt the status quo. This makes sense, since historically, persecution of witches has been tied to social fears of independent, freethinking women. Most of the transformations and spells that witches offer to others tend to involve this trade off as well. The story Side Effects entails a witch who will grant transformation wishes but at the price of a negative transformation in the mix. And there's a growing sub-genre of witch-themed gender change stories, like The Witching Brew, where an exciting seduction is played off against the risk of losing one's manhood. The idea of witches "paying a price for power" is illustrated in Madoka Magica, which is a fantastic anime I've just finished watching and that I'll be reviewing in more detail later on. Harry Potter, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Charmed, and other TV shows and movies have recast the witches (or at least, some of them) as the heroes. I predict that a few factors will make this trend continue and grow in the near future. First, our conception of gender have shifted, and strong women are more likely to intrigue us than horrify us. Even in movies where the Witch is still the villain, such as Snow White and the Huntress, the princess is recast from a slumbering, passive character to a warrior leading an army. Second, a decline in religiosity among young people will probably prompt more interest in the aesthetics of concepts which have been traditionally feared by religion, like witchcraft. Third, "dark" stories exploring complex nature of the hero have become increasingly popular, and the occult represents a great setting for that. What is your favorite witch-themed transformation story? Leave a link in the comments along with your reason why you like it. Gender change is a genre that's extremely popular online. There are thousands of stories and many huge sites dedicated to the genre. It can be a bit difficult to navigate through them, though, especially because the genre can be extremely varied in terms of how the subject is handled. My first ever story written online was gender change anime fanfiction, so this is a genre that holds a lot of interest for me, at least in some variations. One of the most obvious facts about gender change stories it that, overwhelmingly, they are about turning from male to female. There are several reasons why this may be the case. One, there's a greater taboo factor. Women are encouraged to break some taboos surrounding their gender, but men are not given that same support. Men can still be ridiculed for wearing women's clothes, but there no longer is such as thing as "men's clothes." The taboo factor makes the change more dangerous and thus more exciting. It also encourages men who feel a desire to express their feminine side to sublimate those feelings, meaning seeking out a story online can be one of the only ways they connect with that part of themselves. Another reason for the "gender gap" is that, as a society, we view women as the ideal in terms of beauty. Depending on your point of view, we glorify or objectify the feminine. This can make a feminine transformation seem more alluring. Gender change transformation catalysts can include magic wishes, women's clothing, and - less commonly - the realistic process of hormones and surgery. Gender change is one of the few transformation genres in which the physical transformation need not take center stage in the story. Often, the character wakes up having already been fully changed. Instead, a significant focus is often placed on how the character's life has changed, post transformation. Like many other types of transformations, there's a divide within gender change stories between seeing the transformation as fortunate or as a punishment. In the "punishment" stories, the character often becomes a slut or a bimbo. Though they often have fun sexually, there's an undercurrent that being forced to be female is a humiliation. A similar genre is stories involving "forced feminization" or "sissification" in which the character is made to be more feminine but not actually turned into a girl - these stories also play on the association between humiliation and male femininity. I would love to see a "forced fem" story where being feminine is portrayed as a positive instead of a humiliation, so if you know of one, please share in the comments. The "fortunate" stories usually leave their characters happier, better adjusted, more successful romantically, and closer to their "true" selves after the change. Kashimashi: Girl Meets Girl, the anime I recently reviewed, is a great example of this type of story. I tend to prefer the "fortunate" stories overall, though I'm always up for a dark story if its well written and the idea has some element of uniqueness. If you're looking for a gender transformation story that places a lot of detail on the process of the change, Cheer is a great one. If you're looking for a story that places a lot of detail on the process and involves a rare female to male change, Sex Change Computer Virus would be my choice. I'll be releasing a new ebook with a gender change theme during my next ebook release (I'm shooting for October 1st.) It actually falls under a sub genre, male to BBW, in which a man becomes a woman and gains weight. It was a blast to write. Garden Variety is part "downgrade" transformation (including weight gain) and part religious satire. It presents the "Garden of Eden" with a transformation flavor, while at the same time providing some thoughtful analysis of the creation story itself. “What have you done now?” God’s voice boomed. “Baking? Don’t you know gluttony is a sin?” “It’s a sin to try to take full advantage of the taste buds you gave us?” Adam asked, his mouth full of cake. “Be careful – you’re starting to sound like the Devil!” God yelled. “If you wanted sweet stuff, what happened to eating healthy fruit?” “Didn’t you get mad at us earlier for eating the wrong fruit?” Eve asked, a few crumbs falling from her lips as she spoke. “How many wrong choices are there?” “All worldly pleasures are inherently sinful. You should have figured that out by now,” God said. “But look at how hard they've worked to be able to cook all this,” the Devil pointed out. “They've used the minds you've given them to construct buildings and an oven.” Age Regression transformation stories mean different things to different people. In this respect, the genre is similar to its cousin, Age Progression. Some Age Regression stores are purely mental. That is, the person's mental state to change, while their physical body remains the same, like in my recent story Mother of Invention. Others contain a physical change that does not correspond with a mental change, while still others have both mental and physical changes (like my story Birthday Wishes.) The most common transformation catalyst is psychological conditioning or hypnosis, though magical wishes and science fiction type tech are frequent as well. Age Regression stories have further divides. How young is the person becoming? Are they simply becoming youthful, or regressing into adolescence, or even further into infancy? Is the Age Regression occurring as part of an identity swap, or is a single person or group of people changing in one direction only? Does the regression prevent them from having adult relationships, or does it help them achieve far more satisfying ones? The first Age Regression stories I read and enjoyed were written by Homer Vargas. My favorite of his was "Ruth's Big Baby" which had a big influence on me. It's a tale of a therapist who regresses a male patient and assumes a relationship with him which is at once sexual and maternal. That theme is present in several of my own stories, most noticeably in one of my personal favorites, Relationship Realignment. Age Regression is one of the few genres in which the male is often the target of the transformation (it happens maybe about half the time in the stories I've read, whereas I'd say over 90% of Age Progression or Weight Gain targets women.) Age Regressing a man (or a woman) allows them to serve in a more submissive role in a relationship, which is something I'm definitely partial to on occasion. In this sense, my interest in Age Regression is similar to my interest in Age Progression: it helps tilt the balance of power and changes the dynamics of relationships. They're both different paths to a very similar goal. What about you? If you enjoy Age Regression, what are your favorite stories online? If you'd like to see more Age Regression on this blog, let me know which of my three Age Regression stories you liked the best. |
